Practice Period Dana
If you’ve just registered, you’re all set. We do want to encourage you to donate to help us make this special event possible.
Dana, not a fee
The practice period is offered on a dana basis. Dana is the traditional Buddhist practice of generosity: giving freely, according to your means. and no one will be turned away if they cannot afford to give.
Suggested dana: a sliding scale
The suggested range is $100 to $250 or more. One way to think about it is a few hours of your livelihood, roughly three to six hours of your pay. Or use these as a guide:
- $250 or more: if your housing and income are secure and you have savings. Giving at this level makes room for those who give less.
- $100 to $250: if you’re reasonably comfortable but watching what you spend.
- Less than $100, or nothing: if money is tight right now, for whatever reason.
