Administration

The administrative and financial affairs of Kannon Do are managed by a seven-person board of directors, primarily during monthly board meetings. Each board member serves a two year term, with  new members elected at the Kannon Do annual meeting. Candidates for the board are nominated by Kannon Do members and an individual is permitted to nominate himself or herself. To be eligible for nomination, an individual must be a voting member, and been active in Kannon Do for at least one  year.

Monthly board meetings, also known as community meetings, are open to everyone. All attendees are encouraged to comment and provide suggestions about questions, issues, or projects on the agenda. Following discussion, and having obtained a sense of the meeting, decisions regarding administration and maintenance are made by consensus of all present. Financial decisions, requiring expenditure of Kannon Do resources, are decided by consensus of the board.
