Getting Started

Anyone interested in exploring  Zen practice at Kannon Do may simply attend any of the meditation sessions shown on the daily calendar.   There is no need to make an appointment or call ahead.    Wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothes.

The best time to come for the first time is either 6:30 PM on Wednesday evenings or 9:00 AM on Saturday mornings.    During these times, one of the senior members will provide a brief tutorial on the posture and form of Zen meditation practiced at the center.

A more in-depth introduction  is provided during the Introduction to Zen program,  held on the first Saturday of each each month from 10:30 AM– 12:30 PM.    This orientation includes demonstration and discussion of the meditation posture, a tour of the center, and an opportunity to ask questions.
