On Wednesday evening, March 4th, Koji Vanessa Able will give an online dharma talk followed by a discussion.
Koji Vanessa Able is a remote member of the Kannon Do community, having lived and practiced there in person for six wonderful years. She began Zen practice with the Association Zen Internationale in 2001, following the European lineage of Taisen Deshimaru. She ordained with Guy Mokuho Mercier in 2011 at La Gendronniere and then again with Keido Les Kaye Roshi at Kannon Do in 2018 after moving to the United States. Vanessa completed her Shuso training at the San Francisco Zen Center in 2025 under the guidance of Ryushin Paul Haller. Having trained as a professional chaplain, Vanessa now teaches Buddhist Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care and poetry at the Sati Center for Buddhist Studies, and works with the Shogaku Zen Institute for postgraduate Buddhist certification. Vanessa is also the founder and editor of The Dewdrop.
