Please join us on Saturday, September 8th at 10:30am for a Dharma Talk and workshop titled “How to Create Sacred Spaces and Altars at Home”. This will be the first of three events to be held at Kannon Do this fall by long-term Buddhist practitioner and artist Marcia Lieberman.
Marcia believes that introducing historic rituals to our home environment can help support our practice. “Rituals, like the arts, can enrich our lives and engage the full range of our being,” says Marcia.
Participants at the September workshop should bring a small handheld object that they consider sacred or altar-friendly to the Saturday meeting
The event in September will be followed by a hands-on workshop on Saturday October 6th at 10:30am on the subject of sutra copying. Materials will be provided.
The third and last workshop will take place on Saturday November 3rd at 10:30am. During this last event, Marcia will present “Sound in Zen Practice.” In addition to exploring sound in the zendo, Marcia will lead participants in a session of group chanting.
Workshops will last approximately two hours. Suggested donation for each event is $15.
