On Wednesday evening, May 1st, Zoketsu Norman Fischer, founder and director of Everyday Zen Foundation, will will give an in-person dharma talk followed by a discussion.
Zoketsu Norman Fischer was ordained by Zentatsu Richard Baker in 1980 and received shiho (Dharma transmission) from Sojun Mel Weitsman in 1988. He practiced at San Francisco Zen Center for 25 years, serving as co-abbot from 1995 to 2000, when he founded the Everyday Zen Foundation, which he continues to lead. An author and poet, his most recent Dharma books are The World Could Be Otherwise: Imagination and the Bodhisattva Path and, forthcoming in May 2021, When You Greet Me I Bow: Notes and Reflections From a Life in Zen. His most recent poetry titles are On a Train at Night and Untitled Series: Life As It Is. His websites are NormanFischer.org and EverydayZen.org. Norman and his wife Kathie have been married for 44 years.
