On Wednesday evening, May 8, our guest speaker will be Shōku Kathy Early.
Kathy began sitting zazen daily in 1994 while working as a semiconductor engineer in Silicon Valley.
In 2000, Kathy moved to San Francisco Zen Center, where she lived and trained for 16 years, practicing mainly at Tassajara Zen Monastery and Green Gulch Farm. She received priest ordination in 2005.
Since 2016, she has spent a cumulative 17 months at Toshoji International Training Monastery, in Okayama, Japan, including four angos (90 day training periods).
Kathy currently lives in Palo Alto and practices at Kannon Do.
