Please join is on Wednesday, May 1st at 8 p.m. after zazen for Elizabeth Orr’s Dharma talk INTO THE LIGHT: An Invitation to Elysian Beauty. Elizabeth will be presenting a photographic essay based on a near-death experience which transcended into a garden.
Elizabeth is a screenwriter, a former arts & entertainment journalist for the SJ Mercury, as well as a former photojournalist for the Los Angeles Times and publications like Time Magazine. She is currently is working on a non-fiction book: Banjo, The Zen Dog, about adventures with her enlightened border collie. She was ordained as a lay priest by Ocean Gate Zen Center teacher, Shinshu Roberts, in 2018. Her Buddhist name is: Ryushin Choben, meaning ‘Dragon Heart, Clear Study & Effort’.
