Sangha Meeting

The next Kannon Do Sangha meeting will be held on February 20, at 10:30, in the Sangha house.  Everyone is welcome. During  these monthly meetings, the Kannon Do board - and other members and friends who attend - review the operations of our center and ensure that all necessary tasks are being taken care of.

Video Filming

Kannon Do is in process of planning a dynamic and engaging short video that will become  part of the website.  The filming will take place on Saturday, February 27th, and will include brief scenes of the people and activities of Kannon Do, as well short interviews.

Introduction to Zen

Join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen.  This orientation is intended primarily for individuals  new to Zen practice,  as well as experienced practitioners who have  questions about their contemplative practice.  This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month,  lasting  about 90 minutes.

Garden Work Day

Please join for a garden work day on Saturday March 5, from 10:30 to about noon. The winter rains have been wonderful for our plantings, and also for the weeds, so join us if you can to help groom our beautiful property. Garden gloves and tools will be provided, but wear sturdy shoes and bring a hat.

Meditation in Life: Our Work

Our March 12th topic will be “Our Work”.  We will meet to discuss work issues that have moved, challenged, or may have overcome us in the challenging work environment of Silicon Valley.

Annual Meeting

Please join us Sunday, March 20, for our Kannon Do Annual Meeting.

Garden Day

The winter rains have encouraged our plantings, but also an abundant crop of weeds, so join us if you can to help groom our beautiful property. Garden gloves and tools will be provided, but wear sturdy shoes and bring a hat and your own gloves if you have them.

Sesshin

On Saturday, April 2nd, Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
