Join us at 10:30 AM for an introduction to Zen meditation. It's meant for people new to Zen meditation as well as practitioners with questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together is a recurring activity, the first Saturday of the month, and it lasts typically about 90 minutes.
On Wednesday June 10, we will have our next monthly discussion of Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind. The chapters for this session are: Negative and Positive Nirvana, the Waterfall Traditional Zen Spirit Here are some questions to seed the discussion, although of course, we can follow it wherever it leads us!

Natalie Goldberg is the author of Writing Down The Bones: Freeing The Writer Within (1986), which broke open the world of creativity and started a revolution in the way we practice writing in this country. The book has sold over one million copies and been translated into fourteen languages.
This Saturday June 27 at 10:30 we will have a Garden Work Day at Kannon Do. The garden continues to flourish, including the weeds, so we'll need to continue to keep up with them. We usually spend about sixty to ninety minutes working, but whatever time you can give will be much appreciated.

Meditation is a practice that many of us do in isolation or pursue in a solitary manner. Even when we practice meditation within a community, many of us keep our practice and related insights to ourselves.
Please join us this coming Saturday July 18th at Kannon Do for our regular monthly sangha meeting beginning at 10:30. This monthly meeting is how we take care of the various tasks around Kannon Do and is a good way to learn more about how things are organized and to become involved more significantly.
