One-day Sesshin (Meditation Retreat)

In place of the usual lecture, this coming Wednesday we will engage in the traditional Shosan ceremony, customarily held following a one week meditation retreat. In this ceremony, each participant faces the teacher to ask a question relating directly to his or her practice.
Giuseppe started Zen practice at Kannon Do in 2008, was ordained in 2011, and after many years in the U.S., relocated with his family to Italy in 2012.
Chris Becker serves on the Board at Kannon Do. Chris is a trained scientist and hence an expert skeptic.
Please join for a garden work day on Saturday April 29th, from 10:30 to about noon. We will be continuing to work on weeding and grooming the plantings around Kannon Do. Please meet with us in the courtyard at 10:30 if you'd like to join in.

This orientation is intended primarily for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.
African Spirit: Bearing Witness from Slavery to Freedom Please join us on Saturday May 13th at 10:30 am for a talk about the “African Spirit” by Bonnie Sarmiento. The lecture is part of our “Buddhism in Society” discussion series. It will be followed by a potluck lunch.
Please join us for the Sangha meeting held in the Sangha house at 10: 30 a.m. on May 20th. Everyone is welcome.
If you plan on attending Sesshin on June 10th please join us for Oryoki training on June 3rd at 10:30 a.m. Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries. At Sesshin 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) will be eaten Oryoki style.
