Intro to Zen

Join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on January 6th.  This orientation is intended primarily for individuals  new to Zen practice,  as well as experienced practitioners who have  questions about their contemplative practice.  This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month,  lasting  about 90 minutes.

Garden Work Day

Please join us for the first Garden Work Day of 2018 this Saturday, January 6 at 10:30 AM. We will be doing weeding, clean-up, dead-heading of roses, and general maintenance of our garden areas. Bring sturdy closed shoes and work clothing.

Meditation in Life: Choosing Skillful Means in Our Daily Lives

There are many daily obstacles we face, both on and off the cushion. As a group we will discuss the different approaches we take to overcome our daily obstacles in accord with our core beliefs and Buddhist principles.

Oryoki Training

If you plan on attending Sesshin on February 10th please join us for Oryoki training with Victor on Saturday, February 3rd following the last sitting. Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries.

One Day Meditation Retreat (Sesshin)

Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on February 10th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
