Annual Meeting

Please join us on Sunday, March 17, for our Kannon Do Annual Meeting. During this meeting we review our activities of the past year, plan for the coming year, elect new board members, select new officers, and identify stewards for the coming year.

Intro to Zen

Please join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on Saturday, March 23rd.  This orientation is intended primarily for individuals  new to Zen practice,  as well as experienced practitioners who have  questions about their contemplative practice.  This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month,  lasting  about 90 minutes.

Garden Day

Please join us on Saturday,  April 6th at 10:30 a.m. for  Garden Day.  It will include an hour or so of weeding, pruning, and general clean-up.  Feel free to bring children and friends too.

Oryoki Training

If you plan on attending Sesshin on February 9th please join Ken Simpson for Oryoki training on Friday, April 12th at 6 p.m.  Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries.

One Day Meditation Retreat (Sesshin)

Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on Saturday, April 13th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
