If you plan on attending Sesshin on June 10th please join us for Oryoki training on June 3rd at 10:30 a.m. Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries. At Sesshin 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) will be eaten Oryoki style.
Join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on June 3rd. This orientation is intended primarily for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.

If you plan on attending Sesshin on June 10th please join Ken Simpson for Oryoki training on Friday, June 9th 6:00 p.m. Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries. At Sesshin 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) will be eaten Oryoki style. Ken's teaching style is fun and informative.
Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on Saturday, June 10th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
On Saturday July 1 we will have a Garden Work Day at Kannon Do. We'll meet at 10:30 AM in the courtyard for tea and cookies, then work until about noon. There's pruning, watering and weeding to be done, and it's always fun working together outdoors to take care of this very special place.

The Meditation in Life Series are informal conversations that view our lives in the context of experience with Zen practice. This week’s conversation will consider intuition and how we incorporate it into our everyday lives.
