Intro to Zen

Please join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on Saturday,  December 28th.  This orientation is intended for individuals  new to Zen practice,  as well as experienced practitioners who have  questions about their contemplative practice.  This informal get together takes place on the fourth Saturday of the month,  lasting  about 90 minutes.

Garden Day

Please join Megan and Lee for a garden work day at Kannon Do on Saturday, December 28th from 10:30 a.m. until noon.  Tasks such as pruning, raking and weeding will be taken care of in the front and back areas. Please come and help us maintain the garden and landscape.

Sangha Meeting

Please join us for the Sangha meeting held in the Sangha house at 10: 30 a.m. on  January 18th.   Everyone is welcome.

Guest Speaker: Tova Green

Please join us on Wednesday, January 22nd at 8 p.m for a dharma talk by Jisan Tova Green. Tova was ordained as a Zen priest and received Dharma Transmission from Eijun Linda Cutts in 2015 and has held many positions; she now resides and teaches at City Center.

Meditation in Life Discussion Series

Please join us on Saturday, February 1st from 10:30 a.m. to 12: 00 p.m. for a Meditation in Life discussion led by guest speaker William Thomas in our Kannon Do Garden. William is a Human Resources consultant in France.

Wednesday, February 5, our guest speaker will be Misha Merrill,  the first student ordained as a Zen priest at Kannon Do.

One Day Meditation Retreat (Sesshin)

Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on Saturday, February 8th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
