Join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on September 2nd. This orientation is intended primarily for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.
Please join us this Saturday, September 9th at 10:30 a.m. for a Garden Work Day. We'll be weeding, pruning, cleaning up fallen fruit, and generally beginning to clear and clean up the garden before the winter rains. We'll meet in the courtyard at 10:30.

On Saturday September 30 from 10:30 am to about noon, we will meet for a garden work day. For those of you able to come that day, we will meet in the courtyard area at 10:30. Tools and gloves will be provided, but please bring work clothes and closed shoes, and also sun protection.
If you plan on attending Sesshin on October 14th please join Ken Simpson for Oryoki training on Friday, October 13th following the last sitting. Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries. At Sesshin 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) will be eaten Oryoki style.

Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on August 12th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
