Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on Saturday, December 14th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
Please join us for a discussion of Chapter 11 of Suzuki Roshi's book "Branching Streams Flow in the Darkness: Zen Talks on the Sandokai" after zazen on Wednesday, December 18th, at 8 p.m. Instead of a Lecture we are discussing one chapter of the book each 3rd Wednesday of the month.
Please join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on Saturday, December 28th. This orientation is intended for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the fourth Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.
Please join Megan and Lee for a garden work day at Kannon Do on Saturday, December 28th from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Tasks such as pruning, raking and weeding will be taken care of in the front and back areas. Please come and help us maintain the garden and landscape.
We will have our regular lecture this Wednesday given by Les. The book discussion has been postponed to next month.

Please join us on Wednesday, January 22nd at 8 p.m for a dharma talk by Jisan Tova Green. Tova was ordained as a Zen priest and received Dharma Transmission from Eijun Linda Cutts in 2015 and has held many positions; she now resides and teaches at City Center.
