Join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on December 2nd. This orientation is intended primarily for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.
If you plan on attending Sesshin on December 9th please join us for Oryoki training on Saturday, December 2nd following the last sitting. Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries.
Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on December 9th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
There will be no sangha meeting in December due to holiday scheduling.
Please join us for our annual Holiday Party on Sunday, December 17, 5:00 – 8:00 PM, at Janet Harrington’s house (771 Orange Avenue, Los Altos). Sign up for the vegetarian potluck will be available outside the zendo. DIRECTIONS TO JANET’S HOUSE: Take El Monte Avenue – east from 280 or west from El Camino Real.

Please join us for the first Garden Work Day of 2018 this Saturday, January 6 at 10:30 AM. We will be doing weeding, clean-up, dead-heading of roses, and general maintenance of our garden areas. Bring sturdy closed shoes and work clothing.
