Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on Saturday, December 8th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
Kannon Do’s annual holiday party will be held on Sunday, December 16, 5:00 – 8:00 PM, at the home of Janet Harrington, 771 Orange Avenue, Los Altos. Please join us.
Please join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on Saturday, December 22nd. This orientation is intended primarily for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.
Please join us for our regularly scheduled meditation (zazen) on Wednesday, December 26th at 7: 10 p.m. However, due to the holidays, there will be no Dharma talk.
Please join us on Saturday, December 29th for our last Garden Day of 2018! We'll meet in the courtyard at 10:30 AM for cookies and tea, then do an hour or so of raking leaves, light pruning and general garden clean-up. Join in to help, and feel free to bring children and friends too.
