Please join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on Saturday, November 24th. This orientation is intended primarily for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the first Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.
Please join us on Tuesday, November 27th at 6:00 p.m. for a screening of the 2003 movie Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter....and Spring or Bom yeoreum gaeul gyeoul geurigo bom (the original title, running time: 125 minutes). It is an award-winning film directed by South Korean film director Ki-duk-Kim.

Carrying on the centuries-old tradition of Chinese and Japanese Zen monasteries and temples, Kannon Do will hold its annual Temple Cleaning Day on December 1, starting at 10:30. Tasks will include items not normally included in our weekly work periods, such as washing windows and vacuuming behind the sitting platforms (tans).
If you plan on attending Sesshin on December 8th please join Ken Simpson for Oryoki training on Friday, December 7th at 6 p.m. Oryoki is the traditional way that Japanese monks eat their food in monasteries.
Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on Saturday, December 8th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.
Kannon Do’s annual holiday party will be held on Sunday, December 16, 5:00 – 8:00 PM, at the home of Janet Harrington, 771 Orange Avenue, Los Altos. Please join us.
