Please join us at 10:30 AM for an Introduction to Zen on Saturday, July 27th. This orientation is intended primarily for individuals new to Zen practice, as well as experienced practitioners who have questions about their contemplative practice. This informal get together takes place on the fourth Saturday of the month, lasting about 90 minutes.

Please join Megan and Lee for a garden work day at Kannon Do on Saturday, August 3rd from 10:30 a.m. until noon. Tasks such as pruning, raking and weeding will be taken care of in the front and back areas. We'll meet in the courtyard to choose our assignments, and tools and gloves will be provided.
Please join us on Wednesday, August 7th at 8 p.m. for a dharma talk by Chris Becker. The talk will be given after our regularly scheduled zazen which begins at 7: 10 p.m.
Kannon Do will host a one-day meditation retreat, or Sesshin on Saturday, August 10th. This day of mindfulness offers a rare opportunity to turn our awareness to the simple activities that sustain our lives, and that we normally take for granted: breathing, walking, eating, being attentive to the workings of our mind.

Please join us for a discussion of Chapter 7 of Suzuki Roshi's book "Branching Streams Flow in the Darkness: Zen Talks on the Sandokai" after zazen on Wednesday, August 21st, at 8 p.m. led by Dan Geiger. Instead of a Lecture we are discussing one chapter of the book each 3rd Wednesday of the month.
