Workshop with Frank Ostaseski

September 1, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Internationally respected Buddhist teacher and visionary cofounder of the Zen Hospice Project and founder of the Metta Institute Frank Ostaseski will be teaching a workshop at Kannon Do on Saturday Sept. 1st from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM titled “The Thin Line that Connects Life and Death.”

In Japanese Zen, the term shoji translates as “birth-death.” There is no separation between life and death other than a small hyphen – a thin line that connects the two.

“We cannot be truly alive without maintaining an awareness of death. Death is not waiting for us at the end of a long road. Death is always with us, in the marrow of every passing moment. She is the secret teacher hiding in plain sight. She helps us to discover what matters most,” says Ostaseski.

This afternoon workshop will focus on cultivating the compassion and courage necessary to explore life and death fully.

We have a limited number of spaces for this event. Attendance requires registration. If you are interested in participating please send an email to tbouza@gmail.com.

We are suggesting a donation of $20.

Frank Ostaseski has lectured at Harvard Medical School, the Mayo Clinic, Wisdom.2.0 and teaches at Spirit Rock and major spiritual centers around the globe.

His work has been featured on the Bill Moyers PBS series “On Our Own Terms”, highlighted on The Oprah Winfrey Show and honored by the Dalai Lama.  He is the author of “The Five Invitations: Discovering What Death Can Teach Us About Living Fully”.
